Frequent Questions
MERGE is about Curiosity • Chemistry • Connection. Our gatherings are designed to give like-minded adults a comfortable place to meet, socialize, flirt, and—when the chemistry is right—explore.
Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often.
-
MERGE is a private social community for adults in the lifestyle.
We believe the best connections usually begin with conversation rather than expectation. Our events create space to mingle, laugh, flirt, make new friends, and see where the chemistry naturally leads.
Some gatherings are primarily social. Others include optional lifestyle play. There is never an expectation that anyone participate sexually.
Come to socialize, flirt, watch, play—or simply enjoy being around people who understand the lifestyle.
-
Not exactly.
MERGE is first and foremost a social lifestyle gathering. At events where play space is available, guests may choose to explore it—but participation is always optional.
There is no expectation that attending means you are agreeing to play with anyone.
Conversation first. Chemistry second. What happens after that is entirely up to you.
-
Our events typically include couples, polycules, single women, and select single men.
We intentionally manage attendance to maintain a comfortable social balance rather than simply filling the room. For many events, we aim for approximately a 2:1 male-to-female ratio.
First-time lifestyle guests, experienced lifestyle guests, and those who simply want to socialize or observe are all welcome.
-
Yes, but single-male attendance is limited.
Single men are generally approved or invited individually so that we can maintain the atmosphere and guest balance that make MERGE enjoyable for everyone.
Being respectful, social, communicative, and understanding lifestyle etiquette matters much more to us than simply filling another spot.
-
Absolutely.
We understand that walking into a lifestyle gathering alone can feel intimidating, particularly the first time.
Our hosts make a point of helping single women feel comfortable, included, and safe throughout the evening. We’ll introduce you to people, help you settle in, and remain available if you ever need us.
You never owe anyone your attention, affection, or participation simply because you attended alone.
-
No.
Not tonight. Not eventually. Not because someone bought you a drink. Not because you've been talking or flirting with them all evening.
You decide what you want to do and with whom.
Watching, socializing, flirting, playing, or doing absolutely nothing sexual are all perfectly acceptable ways to spend an evening at MERGE.
-
Consent isn't complicated.
Ask before touching. A “no” is a complete answer.
Consent should be enthusiastic, informed, and ongoing. Agreeing to one activity does not imply consent to another, and anyone may change their mind at any point.
Pressure, repeated asking after someone has declined, intentional boundary violations, or ignoring another guest's wishes are not compatible with MERGE.
If something makes you uncomfortable, please speak with one of the hosts.Item description
-
Yes.
Protection is required for penetrative play between non-partners.
Guests should bring their own condoms and any other safer-sex supplies they prefer. MERGE does not assume responsibility for another guest's sexual-health status, testing history, or individual risk decisions.
Communication about sexual health, boundaries, and protection should happen before play begins.
-
Think date night, sexy casual, or whatever makes you feel confident.
You don't need costumes, lingerie, or clubwear unless that's what you enjoy wearing. Most guests arrive dressed for a fun social evening and become more adventurous later if the night takes them in that direction.
The important thing is that you're comfortable, clean, and ready to mingle.
-
No.
Couples generally arrive together, but approved singles are welcome to attend independently.
MERGE is intentionally social, so you won't be expected to already know people when you arrive. Introductions and conversation are part of the experience.
-
Probably less than you think.
Many people attending MERGE are experienced, but others are exploring the lifestyle for the first time.
You don't need to know special terminology, have previous club experience, or prove anything. Ask questions, observe, socialize, and move at whatever pace feels comfortable.
Everyone had a first event.
-
Yes—with an important distinction.
Being present in an open play area doesn't automatically mean you're participating. Watching can be part of the lifestyle experience.
However, privacy and consent still apply. Never enter a private space, touch participants, photograph, record, or involve yourself in someone's play without being invited.
-
Not without explicit permission.
Guest privacy and discretion are extremely important to us. Never photograph or record another guest without their clear consent.
What happens at MERGE should remain at MERGE unless the people involved have specifically agreed otherwise.
-
MERGE welcomes adults from different backgrounds and relationship structures while maintaining a predominantly heterosexual play environment.
Our events are primarily designed around heterosexual play dynamics. Guests should review individual event descriptions and contact us beforehand if they have questions about whether a particular gathering is a good fit for what they're seeking.
Regardless of orientation or identity, respectful behavior toward every guest is expected.
-
Yes.
MERGE events are generally BYOB.
We provide ice, water, soft drinks, and mixers. Please drink responsibly. Intoxication never substitutes for consent, and someone who is too impaired to consent should not participate in sexual activity.
-
MERGE gatherings are held at a private residence in the Wind Gap, Pennsylvania area.
For privacy and security, the exact address is provided to confirmed guests rather than posted publicly.
-
Yes.
Free on-site parking is available for our regular private-residence events. Specific parking instructions may be included with your event confirmation.
-
Pricing varies depending on the event and guest type.
Regular gatherings, BBQs, special events, and future member events may have different pricing. Current admission information will always be included with the individual event listing.
-
No.
Marking yourself as Going/Attending on a lifestyle site tells us you're interested, but it does not reserve your place.
Because attendance is limited and we actively manage the guest mix, you must complete the reservation process for the specific event.
RSVP → RESERVE → ATTEND
If an event reaches capacity, we may not be able to accommodate additional guests or walk-ins.
-
When offered for a particular event, yes.
However, space is limited and admission at the door should not be assumed. Advance registration is the best way to ensure that space is available.
Check the individual event details for current registration and payment options.
-
Because bigger isn't necessarily better.
MERGE is designed around interaction and chemistry—not packing as many people as possible into a room.
Limiting attendance helps us maintain a comfortable environment, a reasonable guest balance, adequate social and play space, and the intimate atmosphere that makes MERGE feel like MERGE.
-
Bring your preferred beverages, condoms or other safer-sex supplies, anything personal you may want during the evening, and most importantly:
An open mind, good energy, and respect for the people around you.
-
Then hopefully you still had a great night.
Sex isn't the measure of whether a MERGE event was successful. Sometimes the connection is immediate. Sometimes someone catches your attention for next time. Sometimes you simply meet interesting people and enjoy the evening.
Chemistry can't be scheduled—and that's part of what makes it fun.
-
You don't need to arrive with an agenda.
Come meet people.
Talk.
Laugh.
Flirt.
Pay attention to the energy around you.
Respect boundaries.
And if curiosity turns into chemistry, let the evening unfold naturally.
